United Nations Military Expert on Mission Course Ends

The three-week “United Nations Military Experts on Mission (UNMEOM) Course” that started on 29 October 2018 at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) ended on Thursday, 15 November 2018. The course was officially closed by Col. Jill Rutaremara, the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy.

The ceremony was also attended by the Nordic Advisory and Coordination Staff (NACS) representative, Ms Terry Obada and a team of facilitators from the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF).

A total of 26 military officers from 6 Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) member states, namely:  Comoros, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda attended the course.

The objective of the course was to train military officers who will later be serving in the United Nations and African Union peacekeeping operations as military observers, military liaison officers and military advisers.
