Protection of Civilians Course Opens at the Rwanda Peace Academy

The course officially opened by Colonel Jill Rutaremara, the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy.

The Protection of Civilians (PoC) Course started today Monday, 19 August 2019 at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) and will run up to 23 August 2019. The course is organized in Partnership between the Rwanda Peace Academy, the Government of Japan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

It was officially opened by Colonel Jill Rutaremara, the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy. Nadine Umutoni Rugwe and Jean de Dieu Kayiranga from the UNDP Head Office in Kigali were present at the opening ceremony.

A total of twenty three military, police and civilian personnel from Six African countries, namely: Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia and Tanzania are attending the course.
