United Nations Staff Officers ToT Course Underway

The was officially opened by Col Jill Rutaremara, the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy.

The Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) is currently conducting a two –week “United Nations Staff Officers Training of Trainers (ToT) course”. The course was funded by the Government of the United Kingdom (UK) and is organised in  partnership between the  Rwanda Peace Academy, the British Peace Support Team, Africa (BPST-A) and the UN Integrated Training Service (ITS). 

It was officially opened on Monday, 2 December 2019 by Col Jill Rutaremara, the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy.  The objective of the course is to familiarise participants with specialised training materials for UN staff officers in order to enable them to deliver the course.

The ceremony was attended by the UK Defence Advisor to Rwanda, Lt Col Matt Edwards, the representative of the British Peace Support Team, Maj Jamie Pipper, the Course coordinator, Lt Col Abraham Kipchirchir Biwot and course facilitators.

 A total of 25 Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) officers are attending the course.
