A Delegation of 25 Defence Attachés from the Kingdom of the Netherlands Serving in Various African Countries Visited the Rwanda Peace Academy
A delegation of 25 Defence Attachés accredited to various African Countries together with officials from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Thursday, 20 February 2020 visited the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA). The delegation was led by Brig. Gen. Jan Blacquiere, the Chief of International Military Cooperation at the Ministry of Defence in the Netherlands.
The purpose of the visit was to learn about the RPA’s role in the region and the opportunities offered to international students as well as Rwanda's role and position towards Protection of Civilians including the Kigali Principles.
The delegation was briefed on the programmes and activities of the Academy as well as the overview of Rwanda’s Participation in Peacekeeping Operations (PKO).
The visit is part of the ongoing four-day conference hosted by Rwanda from 17 to 21 February 2020.
