Integrated Mission Planning Course Opens at the Rwanda Peace Academy

The “Integrated Mission Planning (IMP) Course” started yesterday  Monday, 1 April 2019 at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) training facility in Musanze and will run up to 12 April 2019.  The course was funded by the Government of the United Kingdom (UK), Denmark, Sweden and Norway. It is organized in partnership with the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Secretariat.

The course opened officially by the Joint Chief of Staff at the EASF Planning Element, Maj Gen Charles Rudakubana, on behalf of the EASF Director. The aim of the course is to familiarize the participants with EASF doctrine and analytical tools required to operate as staff officers within an integrated mission or force headquarters.

The ceremony was attended by the course coordinator, Lt Col Mohamed Sirat, the lead facilitator, Maj Gustav Schytz Juul and a team of instructors from Denmark and Rwanda. They were received by Colonel Jill Rutaremara, the Director of the RPA.

The course will be attended by a total of 30 military, police and civilian officers from 7 EASF member states, namely: Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sudan and Uganda.
