Musanze – 15 August 2022
The United Nations Comprehensive Protection of Civilians Training of Trainers (ToT) Course started today at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) training facility in Musanze and will run up to 26 August 2022.The course is organized in partnership between the Governments of the Netherlands, Rwanda and the United States of America/US Africa Command; as well as the Global Peace Operations Initiatives (GPOI).
The aim of the course is to familiarize peacekeeping trainers with the newly developed UN Comprehensive Protection of Civilians (CPOC) Standard Training Materials (STM), in order to enable them to deliver the same course in their respective countries.
A total of 23 military officers from 10 African countries, namely: Benin, Ghana, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal,Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda and Zambia will attend the course.
