Musanze – 27 January 2023

Nine French speaking officers from the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) and eight officers from the Rwanda National Police (RNP) attended the Training of Trainers (ToT)  course on Prevention of Recruitment and Use of Children as Soldiers at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) from 16 January 2023 to 27 January 2023.

The ToT course was jointly organized by the Ministry of Defence, the Rwanda Defence Force, the Rwanda National Police, the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security, and the Rwanda Peace Academy. The objective of the ToT course was to generate a team of capable trainers who will be training in French in Rwanda and elsewhere in Africa.

Present at the closing ceremony were: the Director for the Dallaire Institute-African Centre of Excellence, Maj Gen (Rtd) Ferdinand Safari, the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy, Colonel (Rtd) Jill Rutaremara, and the Defence Attaché at the Embassy of France in Rwanda, Colonel Duffour Nicolas.
