Musanze – 13 March 2023
The United Nations Staff Officers Course (UNSOC) started today Monday, 13 March 2023 at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) training facility in Musanze and will run up to 24 March 2023. The course was funded by the Government of the United Kingdom (UK) and is organized in partnership between the Rwanda Peace Academy, the British Peace Support Team-Africa (BPST-A) and the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF).
The objective of the course is to prepare officers at the equivalent ranks of Captain – Lieutenant Colonel for service as staff officers in the UN Multinational and Sector Headquarters, or within national contingents. The two-week course will be attended by twenty four (24) RDFofficers.
The course was officially opened by Colonel (Rtd) Jill Rutaremara, the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy. The Chief of Staff for the British Peace Support Team (Africa), Major Terry Williams and a team of facilitators from the RDF were present at the opening ceremony.
